SWISS ALPINE EXPEDITION
Hosted at the luxury Omnia hotel at the foot of the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps, the expedition group will meet for 3 days of pre-trip preparation. Led by expert mountain leaders, the team will learn survival, hiking and skiing skills, and discover the incredible Matterhorn range, letting the team and Simon get to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
KAYAKING SKILLS COURSE
Traveling to Wales, the team will stay in luxury accommodation whilst spending 2 days learning key kayaking skills off of the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline.
Flying from your chosen point, the team lands in Ushuaia, the most southerly point from which to access the Antarctic continent. The team will spend a night at a luxury hotel. The last pre trip meeting will take place that evening, before setting out via private yacht across the infamous 140km Drakes passage to Antarctica the following morning.
The trip will be 28 days of exploration. It will feature scaling peaks never before climbed; kayaking the peninsulas in which whales and penguins abound; camping in remote areas only accessed by foot; skiing through ranges never discovered by ski.
The yacht will be the main base, with most nights spent here. It will enable the team to go further into the unknown then the usual air routes onto the continent. On occasions the yacht will drop the team off and then have to anchor at safe points further away. This means that at times the team will be as secluded from the modern world as it gets. The Yacht will be on constant standby if it should be needed.
After safe return in Ushuaia some 28 days later, the team will enjoy a welcome dinner and return to modern comforts before being flown back to their respective destinations.
DINNER WITH THE EXPLORERS
Dinner with the Explorers is our annual celebration of today’s pioneers. Led with collaboration and innovation in mind, we invite key names in the exploration and pioneering travel world together for an evening of feasting and shared ideas. On this occasion the dinner will feature a screening of the film created by the Antarctica team and will celebrate the teams efforts and world first accomplishment.
From here on in the team will be part of our explorers club and be invited to subsequent events.
This event will raise awareness and important funds for conscious travel, and ignite the conversation amongst leaders in the travel industry.
